Who is this for:

This workbook is meant for beginners as well as people further on in their calligraphy journey who enjoy tracing, practicing, strengthening muscle memory, and getting into the Christmas Cheer. Tracing is one of the best ways to strengthen your muscle memory for writing.It trains a steady hand and it can also be very meditative. 

This workbook is for you if you want to:

• practice your calligraphy

• explore a new calligraphy style to inspire your own

• strengthen your muscle memory for better calligraphy results

• and enjoy a creative timeout 

Please note that this workbook does not include any instructions on how to use a brush pen or pointed pen. So while this workbook is definitely also for beginners you do need to know how to use the tools.

What you need:

In order to use these downloadable files you will need some kind of program that can open PDF files. You will need good quality paper and access to a printer (see “How to Print”). Once the pages are printed you can use the workbook with either a brush pen or a pointed pen. The guide is made for small brushpens, meaning pens like the Tombow Fudenosuke brush pens or Pentel Brush Sign Pens. 

If you prefer pointed pen calligraphy you will need a penholder, nib and ink. As for nibs you should be able to use any nib with similar writing results to a Nikko G, Hunt 101, Brause Steno etc. Use whichever one you like best or want to practice with. 

How to download:

Once you purchase the workbook, you will receive an email which has a link to download the PDF workbook files. This link expires after 24 hours so please make sure you download the files right away and keep them somewhere safe on your computer so you can find them.

How to print:

This is a digital file, so you will have to print the pages yourself. You can use your home printer or go to a copy shop. Most important is that you use good paper for the print outs. To make it easier and so that you won’t have any sizing issues the download includes an A4 and a Letter sized version of the file. This way it doesn’t matter where in the world you are or want to print.
